And the Banner is passed...or should I say returns to Cal's lot

Calvin Stevens reluctantly took down the BBQ Master banner last Saturday...I do believe with tears.  He has been very proud to have that banner hanging at his lot....but now he will have to hang it back up as after the Brisket Cook-Off he again came in 1st Place!!!  There were seven entries,hope I get this right..Cal, Norm Sweets, Jeff Clark,Gary Serres, George Serres, Rob and Steph and Norm and Deb this year and some of the men and women had not cooked a brisket....in fact Dusty and I were not sure that we ever had a brisket.  the judging and after party was held at Norm and Cathy Sweets and we thank them for hosting it.  We had a great turn out of about 50 people.  Second place went to Norm (of Norm and Deb) sorry I didn't get their last name...my bad and George Serres Jr won third place.  Our judges had a hard job of deciding the winner as each one of them was cooked a little different but they were all cooked over a fire and Cal said you have to cook them low and slow.  Some of the meat was made into fajitas and some was just sliced.  everyone brought a dish to share and a good time was had by all.  who will win next year??????

Friday night we had a quite evening around our fire with friends and  Sunday Derek and Angel invited us for breakfast.  It is hard to believe we will be leaving here next week.  But first we have our Luau planned for Saturday and if anyone is interested we have had this planned since we got here in May and the date was set then and announced at the Happy Hour's.  Everyone is invited and as usual bring a dish, chairs and drinks.  Hope to see you there..oh and grass skirts are welcome!!!
